Salesian youth ministry

The Instituto Salesiano San Miguel is an educational institution inspired by the charism of San Juan Bosco. Seeking to teach our students under the light of the Preventive System of San Juan Bosco, which has a presence in more than 134 countries. Forming good Christians and honest citizens.

The educational and pastoral proposal of our institution is summarized in four aspects, which are fundamental in every Salesian house.

House that welcomes

Every person that arrives to a Salesian House is brought by the hand of Mary Help of Christians and becomes part of our great family. At the San Miguel Institution, affection, trust and reciprocity are fundamental parts of the educational system, which seeks that our students live fully to the love of God in their lives.

Church that evangelizes

Every Salesian house is a Church that evangelizes; therefore, we seek the Christian formation of children and youth, through our method of 'Educating-evangelizing and Evangelizing-educating', in which is expressed our goal of bringing students to the encounter with the person of Christ, their model of life.

Patio of Encounters

For the Salesian congregation, our house is a 'Patio of encounters', this means that interpersonal relationships are fundamental in the educational process of our students. That is why friendship, joy and a festive atmosphere are elements that characterize our institution.

School for Life

We seek to educate our students in order to face the various challenges that arise throughout life. Our educational-pastoral proposal seeks to develop the skills and abilities that will enable them to be prepared to face the challenges of our time.

Sacramental life

Don Bosco’s central option for “saving souls” leads him to realize that it is necessary to train students integrally, in order to be able to form “Good Christians and honest citizens, so they can become good dwellers of heaven”. Thus, an important part of every young person’s journey of human and spiritual growth is the encounter with Christ through the sacraments.

The Salesian Institute San Miguel, as the main focus of its educational proposal, promotes that children and young people reach this sacramental encounter with Christ through teaching, spiritual retreats, catechesis and sacramental initiation, formation and spiritual assistance, the daily experience of Eucharist and Confession, as well as vocational guidance, among many other proposals that encourage the living and deepening of the Catholic faith.
